 This February, SuperChef Chennai is back with its super successful International Food Carnival for food lovers of Chennai, and also offers Chennai’s budding chefs the chance to have a go at the title of SuperChef Chennai 2018!  

On February 3 & 4, 2018, Madras Cosmopolitan Ladies Circle 38 and Madras Cosmopolitan Round Table 94 are all set to offer Chennai’s culinary enthusiasts a weekend to remember. Back with its tremendously successful International Food Carnival on February 3, at Amir Mahal, Royapettah, SuperChef Chennai brings to you a curated and exclusive offering of out-of-the-box cuisines and food vendors yet again. In addition, the classic two-stage, high profile cooking contest for amateur chefs is slated for February 3 & 4, at The Park Hotels, Chennai.

The Park presents SuperChef Chennai 2018- International Food Carnival:

 Riding on the resounding success of our annual food carnival, this year, SuperChef offers highly exclusive out-of-the-box food vendors and a multitude of exotic cuisines to Chennai food lovers, curated with the highest standards. The theme this year is “World On a Platter”, as we intend to take our patrons on a culinary safari around the world. There are expected to be close to 40 stalls, with sufficient seating capacity. This year, international music and dance compositions, performed centre-stage, will enhance the festive atmosphere of the carnival. For the first time, we will have artists from A R Rahman’s K M Conservatory, performing live at the carnival. Prepare to leisurely savour the many flavours on offer, as you’re enveloped by an enchanting melody or a breathtaking performance. In keeping with the theme, the famous duo of Rocky and Mayur (of ‘Highway on My Plate’ fame), will be exploring the carnival’s cuisines along with you! The royal Amir Mahal grounds at Royap ettah, is a historic, spacious and private outdoor venue, and will be the perfect backdrop to our exclusive event. We promise Chennai foodies a tantalising treat in exotic food from across the globe – from Singaporean  Chicken Rice, Pad Thai and Kashmiri Ristas, to Bunny Chow of South Africa, Dum Biryani and Belgian Waffles, be prepared for a gastronomical ride around the world. This, in addition to the old favourites with a twist from a small town mess, as well as BBQ and Mexican caterers. If that doesn’t leave you spoilt for choice, there’s also the specialities of our home cooks and past SuperChef winners and participants! Audience is expected to be an equally diverse mix of foreign expats, Tablers, friends of Tablers, as well as the general public. An entry fee will filter the crowds to an expected footfall of 5000 pax.

The Park presents SuperChef Chennai 2018- Cooking Contest:

 SuperChef Chennai is a city-wide cooking competition for amateurs cooks. Anyone with a passion for cooking can participate, and have an opportunity to have their creations sampled by renowned chefs from across the country. The Adult (Individual and Team) categories are open to men, women and children above 15 years of age, and the Kids (Team) category is open to children in the 10-14 years age bracket.

The contest invites its participants to register with a simple form and a recipe name, and then bowl over the judges with their pre-cooked speciality dish for the preliminary round on February 3, 2018 at The Park Hotels. 12 finalists in each of the three open categories will be put to the ultimate test of a live cook-off on February 4, 2018. This round will comprise live-cooking challenges with an extensive SuperChef pantry and undisclosed contents, all under the media’s and the celebrity judges’ watchful eyes. The most original and creative dish will win the coveted title of SuperChef Chennai 2018. Entrusted with the challenging task of judging is the esteemed, accredited panel of The Park judges, comprising Chef Ashutosh and his team, along with celebrity judges Rocky and Mayur (of the popular show ‘Highway on My Plate’), Chef Vicky Ratnani (of the well-known show ‘Vicky goes Veg’), Chef Aditya Bal (Author of cookbook Chak Le India), and Chennai’s very own Ms. Mallika Badrinath (of the famous series ‘Arusuvai neram’). Up for grabs are exciting prizes in each category.

All proceeds go to charity. Our beneficiaries include Sanjeevi Primary Healthcare Centre in Maraimalainagar, a long standing initiative of Round Table 94 (in partnership with Ford India), and other health and education projects in the community’s service.
